Cubetto prototypes

Digital prototypes for Cubetto, a physical coding toy.

February 2016

Cubetto is a friendly wooden robot that will teach your child the basics of computer programming through adventure and hands on play. Montessori and LOGO Turtle inspired.  Created by Primo.

Through the use of tactile blocks, placed into a control board, give the robot instructions on how to move using visual language.

I worked with Primo toys to explore the use of the tactile control board as an interface for controlling an on-screen version of the robot.  I worked on two prototypes, a sound sequencer toy and a follow the path mini game.  These were created in Unity, using a Bluetooth connection between the control board and the game to mimic how the physical robot would move.
