Dash Dodge Dive
Big screen crowd games for London 2012
Overview
A series of mini competitive games that get members of the public playing each other across the country, through crowd interactions on big screens.
The games were a series of short challenges, not based around sporting activities, but on the values of using your body movements for collaborative play. These mini games were:
- Whack-a-duck
- Clear the custard from the screen
- Spin the records
- Kick the beach balls
- Sort the fruit
- Water the flowers
A linked cloud component allowed the daily high score table across towns and cities, photo snapshots and challenging players to beat the best score that day.
The games ran across the BBC Big Screen network for a year in the run up to London 2012, as well as on the event site during that summer.
Dash Dodge Dive was a co-commission between Abandon Normal Devices and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Limited (“LOCOG”).
